He further described Iran and Libya as two revolutionary countries, and expressed the hope that the short visit to Tehran by the Libyan delegation would bear many fruits, cause revival of the two countries' relations and develop and deepen their ties in economic, political and cultural areas
Noting the two states' commonalities and interests in various grounds, Davoudi said, "The fact that Iran and Libya are both Muslim and revolutionary countries encourages the two sides' officials to enhance their efforts to adopt the required measures for practicing their independence-seeking policies and enhancing Tehran-Tripoli ties"
The first vice president said he was pleased to observe that the Libyan premier is accompanied by an economic and trade delegation, and said it revealed Tripoli's decisiveness to further expand economic relations with Tehran
He pointed to the formation of the two countries' joint economic commission last year, and hoped that the commission could expand economic ties between the two sides
"Tehran is decisive to expand relations with Tripoli and it does not perceive any restrictions in this ground," Davoudi concluded
